I made my break through in football at 15 for Elgin City in Scottish League Two. Playing one game at the end of the season. I then had to wait another 3 years before playing another professional game. I finished my time with Elgin City having played 24 games over 6 years as a pro. I spent a total of 11 years at Elgin including youth football.
I moved on Strathspey Thistle in the Scottish Highland League. I only played 6 times that season, including once as a substitute striker. A mix of ego and bad judgement led to me moving on to Lossiemouth, again in the Highland League. I played a total of 63 games for Lossiemouth, which was a truly humbling experience. Injuries and a cup final, I experienced it all with Lossiemouth. During COVID the club went in a different direction so I headed out on loan on North Superleague side Dufftown Juniors FC.
Where I spent 2 years. Playing in 2 cup finals, winning one and winning, player of the year and Player's player of the year awards. That season we also finished third which was enough to see us promoted. The following season I became Team Captain. Unfortunately after losing much of our squad from the year before, we were relegated.
I was offered another year, and I would have loved to stay. However I opted to move to England/Darlington to try and pursue a career in football (meaning getting paid to play again) and I was fortunate enough to register with Harrogate Railway Athletic. So far things haven't worked out, so I've only played 3 games for the reservers and 6 games for the Under 23's. Due to health issues, I've missed a large part of the season. And now working extremely hard to lose weight and become fit again.
